Description

Join the Fit For Sport Delivery Team as an Activity Leader – Child Care Qualified. Childcare NVQ level 2 (minimum) or similar you will support the business with your knowledge and experience of compliance e.g. sign in / sign out, headcounts accident and incident reporting procedures as examples. You will also support the Site Manager as part of the delivery team in delivering a range of multi-activities in line with the Fit For Sport programme and values.  Under the direction of the Site Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that the health and safety of children, clients and team is met at all times as well as maintaining both the site’s and team’s compliance with all policies and procedures.

Activity Leader job role:

  • Plan delivery of programmes, activities and actions effectively using FFS systems and materials
  • Motivating and inspiring children aged from 4 up to 12 years of age
  • Engaging and liaising with parents and teachers regarding the progress of their children’s activity and ensure clients receive the best possible service
  • Ensure the health and safety of children, clients and team at all times
  • Make sure that you, the site and team are compliant with all policies and procedures
  • Ensure activity areas and walkways/access points are clear and safe for parents, staff & children
  • Ensure first aid is administered effectively (when appropriate qualification has been completed)
  • Supervise children who require the toilet in line with policies & procedures
  • Supervise children changing for swimming in line with policies & procedures 
  • Ensure your documentation is on site in line with compliance/OFSTED requirements
  • Maintain knowledge of FFS policies & procedures and implement them where appropriate
  • Supervise children while they are eating effectively and support children where required
  • Prepare & serve food in line with standardised menu and policies & procedures
  • Tidy away food and clean up (washing dishes, sweeping floor, wiping tables, etc.) Carry out promotional work or promote services to parents/children

Requirements

Activity Leader Requirements:

  • Experience working with children in a school or a leisure centre environment
  • Be well organised and demonstrate leadership skills
  • To be able to work effectively in teams and as an individual, always maintain a professional approach to work
  • Level 1/2 in Sports Coaching, Activity Leadership or Child Care (relevant routes accepted)
  • A valid DBS is required (which can be obtained if successful in the role)
